Robert Tucker has over 35 years’ experience in the electricity industry.
Robert has held roles in all aspects for electricity infrastructure delivery , from Major Infrastructure Manager to investment analyst to asset Management.
Robert is currently the Resilient Network Manager for ESB Networks, the transmission and distribution electrical utility in Ireland, leading a team responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve both Network Reliability and Resilience.
He is chairing a working group at EDSO (main representative group for distribution operators in Europe) looking at all aspects related to resilience of electricity grids.
Robert is particularly interested in looking at strategies and implementing realistic, affordable solutions to both chronic and acute climate change risk and events to ensure electricity customers’ needs are met both now and into the future. Robert holds a BEng in Electronic Engineering.

    Europe’s energy sector, encompassing oil, gas, and renewables, is of paramount importance. Its stability is crucial for the functioning of all other critical infrastructure/entities. The increasing frequency of cyberattacks and the impact of shifting weather patterns underscore the urgent need to protect energy assets, including IT/OT and SCADA systems. A key challenge is minimizing the impact of outages or attacks and strengthening Europe’s energy grids.
