
Adrian Grilli

Adrian Grilli has spent over 30 years in telecommunications, specialising in utility radio systems. His major role at present is as a Technology Adviser to the European Utilities Telecom Council (EUTC) where his focus is European gas, water and electricity companies and their supply chains. He also represents these European interests in related activities in mission critical communications more widely on a global basis. Before this, he was Managing Director of the Joint Radio Company Ltd, a joint venture between National Grid UK and the Energy Networks Association to manage their access to radio spectrum for utility operations.
Before concentrating on utility telecommunications, he held a wide variety of technical posts in UK government concentrating on standards, regulation, policy and strategy, including representing the UK in European and other international organisations. His interest in these fields continues through participation in the work of ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project).
Adrian Grilli is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a former Director and Chairman of the UK Federation of Communications Services. He is also currently the Rapporteur for utility telecommunications in the International Telecommunication Union’s Radiocommunications Sector (ITU-R) Study Group 5 activities.
