Peter Driessens is Head of Safety at Infrabel, the railway infrastructure manager in Belgium, where he leads the Safety Competence Centre and oversees the development and implementation of safety strategy, risk management, safety management systems, and organisational resilience across one of Europe’s busiest rail networks.
With extensive experience in the railway sector, Peter has built his career at the intersection of operational safety, strategic risk management, regulatory compliance, and organisational transformation. Throughout his professional journey, he has played a leading role in strengthening safety governance, promoting a proactive safety culture, and integrating emerging topics such as resilience, security, sustainability, and digital innovation into corporate safety frameworks.
