Mr. Eduardo Villamor works for ETRA, a multinational industrial group with 2,000 employees that delivers large-scale real-time control systems to critical infrastructure operators, law enforcement agencies and army forces. Within ETRA, he works for the Research and Development unit in the area of Security and Defence, where he is responsible for the definition and implementation of EU-funded projects. He has been involved in multidisciplinary projects ranging from critical infrastructure protection, such as SAFETY4RAILS and PRAETORIAN, disaster resilience, ASSISTANCE, as well as in the fight against crime and terrorism, as Project Coordinator of PERIVALLON and PRESERVE. In the past, he was a PhD scholar at the Universitat Politècnica de València and published several scientific articles in the areas of advance computational modelling and applied machine learning solutions.

    Drones pose a growing threat to critical infrastructure due to their increasing accessibility, manoeuvrability, and payload capacity. They can be used for surveillance, delivering explosives, or causing disruptions. However, drones can also act as a facilitator to protect critical infrastructure. In this session we look into the threat, counter measures and impact drones can induce on CI.
