Rafael Company is the Director of Safety and Security at the Valenciaport Foundation.
He holds degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Valencia. Throughout his career, he has led numerous projects focused on environmental protection, as well as safety and security in ports and maritime areas. Previously, he served as Operations Manager at the international company SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance).
Since joining the Port of Valencia (Spain) in 2003, Rafael has gained extensive experience coordinating several European projects related to cybersecurity, resilience, and hybrid threats along the supply chain.
He is also a regular speaker at international forums, congresses, and conferences. In addition, he has contributed to guidelines developed with ENISA regarding best practices in port cybersecurity. Rafael was the coordinator of the SAURON project (www.sauronproject.eu), participated in the PRAETORIAN project, and is currently in the TRANSCEND project, which addresses cascading effects from cyber–physical threats, among other relevant European initiatives.
