Boris Petrenj is a senior researcher specialising in risk and resilience management of complex socio-technical systems at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where he received his PhD. With a background in electrical and computer engineering, he has been dedicated to Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience (CIP-R) since 2010. His area of expertise covers various aspects of CIP-R, including infrastructure interdependencies, regional and cross-border programmes for CIP-R, inter-organisational information-sharing and collaboration, business continuity, resilience metrics, building resilience capacities, modelling and simulation of CI systems, analysis of good practices, development of training modules and exercises. Dr Petrenj is an author of over 30 scientific publications and acts as a reviewer for major journals in the field. He has worked on several major EU research projects focusing on CIP-R and Disaster Risk Management. He has provided his expertise on consultancy projects supported by the EBRD, the OSCE, the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR).
