Cleo Varianou Mikellidou, Research Associate has a BSc in Physics (University of Ioannina) and a MSc in Safety, Health and Environment (Salford University). Currently, Cleo is a PhD candidate in Occupational Safety & Health at the European University Cyprus. Her research interests focus on Risk Assessment with application on Health and Safety and Critical Infrastructure. Cleo has worked as a Health and Safety Consultant for six years. During these years, she gained experience in training, advising and consulting companies on how to be in line with Health and Safety legislation, maintaining a safe working environment at their workplace and how to gain European standards as ISO9001, OHSAS18001, EMAS, ISO 14001. She has been involved in the OIRA European Project (Online Interactive Risk Assessment) in collaboration with the Cyprus Safety & Health Association and the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance. Since October 2015, she has been working at the Center of Risk, Safety and the Environment (CERISE) as a Research Associate for. She is currently involved in European programmes such as: EU CIRCLE, H2020 – a pan European framework for strengthening Critical Infrastructures resilience to Climate Change and to EPICURO, DG ECHO – European Partnership for Innovative Cities within an Urban Resilience Outlook.
